Our team helps the establishment of nearly one hundred websites and databases online for digital archives projects of Academia Sinica. This requires a professional information technology team and massive equipments support. Refining and updating new information and functions are essential to keep the online system working.

2.Technology development and service
Information and technology team will continue working on innovative technology developments and provide technical advices. New technologies developed for digital-content and information science include metadata analysis, digital archives system technique, image analysis technique, video processing and archives technique, Ancient Chinese words constructing technique, tools for digital archives database, multimedia information retrieval, system backups and digital preservation, spacetime information integration, and so forth. We hope these new techniques can contribute to the advances of our society.

3.Standards Development
Advancing and retainings tandards for different institutes and thematic centers are important for information engineering. Effective communications are also required for different units and sub-projects. The experience of building up metadata systems for subprojects can serve as useful references for the fundamental standards. Finished or currently studied standards in the metadata team include:
(1).International standards: CDWA, Dublin Core, EAD, TEI Lite, VRA Core, Darwin Core (DwC), Species 2000 Data Standard, HISPID, and so on.
(2).National standards are: Dublin Core and TWLOM.
